// ABOUT.
Born undocumented in Baltimore on a futuristic and overpopulated Earth, Amos suffered a horrific childhood. In The Expanse, Earthers are thought of as the highest class — they're the only ones who grew up with free air and normal gravity, after all — but while blessed physically, Amos had little else going for him. He was a commodity to be used and abused and little else — at least until his guardian was able to intervene and give him a better life by sending him to space, where he would have more opportunity.
Amos is someone who wants to be a good person but isn't sure how. Seeing his amorality as something to be corrected or at the very least mitigated, he looks to identify good people and follow their leads, and will override his instincts with theirs if he trusts them. Essentially, he's like a loyal guard dog — but only after you've won him over. Amos grew up a child prostitute. It isn't who he is and it isn't something he's interested in delving into or sharing, but it is the driving force for why he is the way he is. Growing up, the only use for him was his body — first for sex, then for violence as a potential gang member.
As a result, he has warped views on sex and violence both. For the former children are off limits, but very little else is; for the latter it's something he enjoys. He also has an unknown murder count, but killing is a means to an end to him, and not something he does for fun.
He has the potential to be a heavy character. PM me if you would like to opt out.
